Going Deeper 12-24-19

A second Christmas poem..

As celebrations come and go I have to wonder if we know

how simply inexplicable it is that divinity would come to us like this.

Here in the lowest place of all lies God in human form so small.

We constantly like to glamorize, and we cannot help but sanitize,

a very lowly, messy birth– the infinite now bound to earth.

Placed in a bed where livestock feed is the very miracle we need.

How could the One Creator King be found is such a tiny thing?

The Babe, who in the manger lies, has left His home above the skies

to dwell among His own creation, and die to earn our full salvation.

So, amid the glamour of the season, we must not forget the real reason

the Son of God came in this way, knowing full well the price He’d pay.

He came to this most humble place to usher in amazing grace!
